The total number of people injured in a plane fire at a Busan airport has risen to seven, though all injuries are minor, according to fire officials on Wednesday.
Late Tuesday night, an Air Busan aircraft preparing for takeoff to Hong Kong caught fire near its tail at Gimhae International Airport, prompting the evacuation of all 176 passengers and crew on board.
Busan fire authorities confirmed that seven individuals are now receiving medical care for injuries related to the incident.
Initially, officials reported three injuries, but after further assessment, the number was adjusted to seven.
Among the injured, four were crew members who experienced chest pain due to smoke inhalation, while the other three—a woman in her 70s and two individuals in their 50s—suffered back and tailbone discomfort.
Despite the incident, operations at Gimhae International Airport continued as usual on Wednesday, with 279 scheduled flights proceeding as planned, except for eight Air Busan flights that were canceled.
